A roof leak left a brown stain on a bedroom ceiling and soft drywall behind it.
The owner had already had the roof fixed. Beth cut out the soft section of drywall, installed a new piece, taped and finished it with three coats of joint compound, matched the ceiling texture and sealed the area with a stain-blocking primer.
Because a patch on a ceiling shows under a flat coat of new paint at an angle, we painted the whole ceiling.
The result
No visible repair, no stain, and a ceiling that looks like it was never damaged.
